On Friday March 7th, music lovers of all ages packed the historic Temple of Music and Art to celebrate the release of Gabrielle Pietrangelo's new album, Back To The Heart. It was a heartfelt gathering of Tucson's creative community of artists, fans and supporters. Uplifting each other through the power of music. 

The celebratory sounds of Mariachi Aztlan de Pueblo enlivening the courtyard before transitioning to the stage. Gabrielle performed Back To The Heart front to back. An album that was many years - and a lifetime of living - in the making and which serves as a love song to this community, its people, their stories both personal and collective, and the amazing Sonoran Desert region we call home.

Gabrielle invited a who's who of Tucson musicians to join her. This amazing lineup of friends, included Howe Gelb, John Convertino and Jacob Valenzuela of Calexico, John Coinman, Naim Amor, Tom Walbank, Wolf Larsen, Mamma Coal, Thøger Lund, Nick Coventry, Katherine Byrnes, Chris Peña, Casey Hadland, Satish Pillai and Brian Lopez for a star-studded Tucson gathering. As special guests came and went from the stage with cheers and waves of applause, at the heart of it all was Gabrielle. Leading the way with her gorgeous voice, expressive playing and thoughtful songwriting. You could feel the magic in the air. To quote Gabrielle from Back To The Heart, "this is what it's like to love!"
